Elizabeth Fullington
|
Elizabeth Fullington is the Owner and C.E.O. of the Ruby Holland School of Music.
Elizabeth's Music School is named after her mother Ruby Holland who founded the first Ruby Holland School of Music in Guyana (formerly British Guiana), South America. Elizabeth continues her mother's legacy of teaching in the United States. Her school's curriculum incorporates teaching methods from graded guidelines of the Royal Schools of Music, combined with several other teaching methods found in the United States.
Elizabeth has been involved with education for all of her life - over 40 years. Her music education began in her mother's studio after which she completed her LRSM (Licentiate of Music), under the auspices of the Royal Schools of Music and later studied under celebrated pianist, Mr. William Hackett of Bridgetown, Barbados. Elizabeth also possesses a Bachelors Degree in Education, a further enhancement to her teaching style and methods.
Elizabeth believes in music being functional and that it should be taught like any other language. It's the art of sound and her students are taught the importance of listening to their music. Of great importance also is their understanding of the basic rudiments of music training both practical, performance and written and this is evident in the written music compositions of many of her students.
Elizabeth's goal as a teacher is to make the art of music alive and at the same time provide students a rich legacy that goes with them through their future life experiences. |
